This articles gives an overview of the data points that can be found in the Spacing Records.
Spacing records contain various properties calculated by measuring the distance between parallel well bores and other offset wells. These measurements are provided for both wells in matching formations and wells outside of the target well's formation.
Formation
Primary Formation: Indicates the main formation where the well is drilled and producing.
Closest Offset Well Data
- Disposal Wells: Distance and identification of the nearest disposal well from the surface location.
- Disposal Well Distance: Distance from closest disposal well to the surface location of the target well
- Disposal Well Id: Well Id of closest disposal well based on surface location
- Disposal Well Simple Id: Simple Id of closest disposal well based on surface location
- Logged Wells: Distance and identification of the nearest logged well from the surface location.
- Logged Well Distance: Distance from closest logged well to the surface location of the target well
- Logged Well Id: Well Id of closest logged well based on surface location
- Logged Well Simple Id: Simple Id of closest logged well based on surface location
- Vertical Wells: Distance and identification of the nearest vertical well from the surface location.
- Vertical Well Distance: Distance from closest vertical well to the surface location of the target well

- Vertical Well Simple Id: Simple Id of closest vertical well based on surface location
- Closest Offset: Average distance and identification of the closest well throughout the entire trajectory.
- Well Avg Distance: Average distance from the target well to the closest well. Measurements are taken at each step in the directional survey
- Well Id: Well Id for the well closest to the target well throughout the entire well trajectory, regardless of formation
-
- Well Relationship: Relationship of the closest well to the target well, based on timing. Options are Parent, Child, & Co-Developed.

Closest Inverse Offset Well Data
- Avg Distance: Average distance from the target well to the closest inverse well. Measurements are taken at each step in the directional survey
- Well Id: Well Id for the closest well on the opposite side of the target well (opposite side from the closest well) throughout the entire well trajectory, regardless of formation
- Well Id In Formation: Well Id for the closest well on the opposite side of the target well (opposite side from the closest well) throughout the entire well trajectory, producing from the same formation
