What data is contained in Perf Records?

This articles gives an overview of the data points that can be found in the Perf Records.

Perforation records will contain records of perforation intervals in the completion. Some records will contain numbers of shots and other information, but those details can be hit or miss in the public space. 

Perf Data

Perforation locations are precisely recorded using depth measurements:

  • Upper Perf: Upper depth of the perforation
  • Lower Perf: Lower depth of the perforation
  • Reservoir: Identifies the reservoir or formation that was perforated
  • Perf Date: The date when the well was perforated
  • Completion Id: References the state completion record

Additional Information

Supplementary details about the perforation:

  • Comments: Contains miscellaneous notes and observations about the perforation

Records Management

  • Id: Internal unique Identifier
  • Internal Id: Unique record identifier as an integer for quick querying
  • Well Id: Unique well identifier
  • Simple Id: Integer-based well identifier for simplified querying
  • Date Created: When the record was first created in WellDatabase
  • Date Last Modified: When the record was last updated
  • Date Catalogued: When the record was added to the export database
