WellDatabase enables you to export nearly everything in WellDatabase. You can customize your export using any number of data types and then select the fields that are important to you.. This means you can export anything from headers to production to directional data for entire searches.

The export works through a wizard to help guide you in selecting which data types and fields you want to export. First you select the data types. Nearly any data type in WellDatabase is available for you to export. Here we’ll select just Well Headers, Permits, and Production.

First, open up the Well List by click on the List button on the top right of the WellDatabase app.

With the list open you can now click the Export Data button.

That gets you started in the data export wizard. If it’s your first visit to the export or if you have never saved a template, you’ll just straight to step 2. Here you can select the type of file you want to export. To get our CSV export, we’ll select CSV from the File Settings dropdown.

Once you select your file type, you’ll be asked which data types you want to export. All WellDatabase data types are available here so you can select the ones would like to export. For this example, we will just select the Well Headers, Permits, and Production.

When you click next, it will step you through each data type you selected so that you can pick the columns you want to export. Each data type has a different set of data points you can export, so feel free to customize as much as you’d like. Here is the data points available for the Production data type.

If you don’t feel like sifting through everything, you can just click the Add All button and move on.

The Last step allows you to save your settings for reuse in the future. This means you set your export once and then simply select the template anytime you want to export those fields in the future.

Here we’ll save it and name it Help Template.

After you click FInish, it will submit the export to our queue where it will be processed. This can take some time for large exports and during busy times. This will all happen in the background so you can continue using WellDatabase and not just stare at the screen, waiting for your export.

You will be notified when your export is ready. Just click on the Download Now button and your export is there. The export will also be saved to your files. You can access it anytime by going to My – Files.

When you download the export, it will come down as a single zip file. The zip file will contain an individual files for each data type you selected. Here you see the Well Header, Permits, and Production csv we picked. Each file will include a well identifier that you can use to tie records together from one file to another. This id is referred to as our InfinityID. For convenience, API numbers are also export to every CSV as well.

Next time we come to the export, we’ll get the first step where we can pick our template or choose to start a new export.

The WellDatabase export does have a cap of 10,000 wells per export for Premium users and 100,000 wells per export for Ultimate users.. Also it should be noted that not all data types are available in all areas. To better understand the data types available for wells in your search, you can view the well details of a well in your search and see which tabs are available. This should let you know what data is available for the are you are searching.
