WellDatabase utilizes EPSG:4326/ WGS-84 CRS (Coordinate Reference System).
Shapefiles
When you export a shapefile, the prj file, also known as the projection file, will contain important information about the Coordinate Reference System (CRS). The CRS defines the spatial reference system used to represent geographic features in the shapefile.
List View and Export Data
The Header Record is the recommended location for the latitude/longitude coordinates for the surface and bottom hole. The coordinates in the Header Record will use WGS-84.
The only exception to using WGS-84 is when utilizing the Well Location Record. This record will show the coordinates as they were reported, the EPSG column contains a unique 4-5 digit code that represents the CRS.
