How can I determine the number of active producing wells over time? 

If you are interested in monitoring the number of active wells in a particular area over a period of time, this article will guide you through a straightforward approach to accomplish this.

For this example, we will narrow down our search to the Williston Basin and specifically select oil and gas well types. Next, in the analytics section, navigate to the Monthly Production tab.

Adjust the date range on the production chart to align with the specific timeframe you wish to focus on.

The black line on the chart represents the wells that reported production for that specific month. By hovering over the black line, you can view the well count that contributed to the production for that particular month. In the example below, for April 2020, there were 23,827 wells contributing to the production, while in September 2020, there were 59 fewer wells involved.
