How do I create a custom area of interest containing multiple polygons?

This feature allows you to define a custom area of interest by combining multiple polygons from a shapefile. By following these simple steps, you can create a customized boundary that covers various shapes within a single area of interest.

To get started, open the filters panel located on the left side of the map. Then, simply click on the pencil icon next to the area of interest.

Select Custom, and Load File. Then to select the shapefile. Finally, click apply.

Once the shapefile is applied to the map, any wells located within the loaded polygons, whether with a surface or bottom hole, will be displayed on the map, in the list, and in the analytics.

This flexibility enables you to tailor your analysis to specific ownership sections or boundaries that are important to your project.

Please note that WellDatabase can only support loading up to 100 AOIs. If your shapefile contains more than 100 AOIs, you can either use the first 100 or manually select which shapes to load.

If you experience slower computer performance when dealing with complex shapefiles containing numerous areas, consider breaking down the shapefile into smaller subsets. This can help optimize your system's efficiency and prevent any potential slowdowns.
