Which 3rd party apps do you support exporting into?

WellDatabase supports exporting data into all of your favorite applications. Here's a list of those.

One of the most common workflows using WellDatabase is to export data from our application into common 3rd party applications. Luckily, we support just about anything you can imagine.

The following applications are supported through predefined export formats available in the Data Export Wizard. 

  • ARIES
  • ComboCurve
  • GeoGraphix
  • GeoParquet
  • Landmark (OpenWorks)
  • MICA
  • PETRA (Import via: Project → Import → PETRA Ascii Well Data File) 
  • PHDwin (Compatible with V2 and V3, for well-level or lease-level data)

Q: Why are my Excel or CSV exports not showing the data I expected?
A: When exporting to Excel or CSV, you must select the record types and attributes (columns) you want included. Only selected data will be included in the export.

Q: How do I export data into applications like ARIES, ComboCurve, PHDwin, or Whitson+?
A: From the top of your results list, click Export All or Export Selected. This opens the Data Export Wizard. In Step 2 of the wizard, Settings, use the File Settings dropdown to select the application or predefined export format you are exporting to. In Step 3, enter a file name and click Finish to complete the export process. 

Q: Do I need to create or save an export template for applications like ARIES, ComboCurve, PHDwin, or Whitson+?
A: No. These applications are supported through predefined export formats already included in the Data Export Wizard. Simply select the appropriate format from the File Settings dropdown during the export process. 

Q: What are “attributes” in the export tool?
A: In the Data Export Wizard, attributes are the columns included in your Excel or CSV export file. You can choose which attributes to include based on your workflow and data requirements. Q: How do I import WellDatabase exports into Petra?
A: Petra supports ASCII-based imports. In Petra, navigate to: Project → Import → PETRA ASCII Well Data File → Then select the exported file from WellDatabase. (do not rename to .PPF)
