How do I create a buffer around my existing area of interest?

Creating a buffer is helpful when conducting analysis on offset wells adjacent to your defined area of interest.

After creating your custom area of interest, navigate back to the "Filters" panel. Select the gear icon next to your Custom Area.

In the new window, click the duplicate shape icon to begin creating a buffer zone.

To create a buffer, choose "Buffer" as the offset type and specify the buffer distance in miles, then click "Create Buffer" to apply the adjustment.

Note: Additional options are to either expand or contract the original shape.

If you wish to remove the original shape from the map, simply click on "Unnamed Shape" to toggle its visibility. Once your selection is finalized, click "Confirm Selection (x/100)." The new buffered area will be displayed on your map.

You have the flexibility to save either or both of these shapes as part of a saved search, enabling easy access for future analyses. Additionally, you can customize the appearance of your area of interest by adjusting or removing the fill background to enhance visual clarity on the map.
